What is Tidesy?

Tidesy is a dedicated tide tracking device designed for life on the coast. Whether you are a surfer checking swell timing, a boater planning a launch window, or a family heading out to dig clams, Tidesy delivers tide predictions and weather conditions at a glance—no app, no account, no subscription. Configure your preferred and warning tide levels, cycle between a detailed 24-hour graph and a large-number view, and monitor weather alerts from the National Weather Service, all from a beautiful always-on display.

Tidesy currently comes in five models: TidesyS (2.8″), TidesyS+ (3.5″), TidesyINK (4.2″ e-paper), TidesyM (5″), and TidesyL (7″). Each model connects to any of the approximately 1,200 NOAA harmonic tide stations across the United States, shows current weather powered by MET Norway, and serves a full web dashboard at tidesy.local that any device on your network can open in a browser. Setup takes about ten minutes through a browser-based wizard, firmware updates arrive automatically over WiFi, and everything runs locally with no cloud service in between.

What is Tidesy?

Tidesy is a dedicated tide display that sits on your counter, desk, or shelf and shows live tide predictions for your stretch of coast. It pulls data from NOAA's network of approximately 1,200 harmonic tide stations across the United States, along with current weather conditions and National Weather Service alerts. There is no app to install, no account to create, and no subscription fee. You buy it once and it works forever.

How Does It Work?

Tidesy connects to your 2.4 GHz WiFi network and fetches tide predictions, weather, and alerts directly from free public government APIs. It refreshes every six minutes and displays the data on a built-in screen that is always on and always current. It also runs a web dashboard you can open at tidesy.local from any phone, tablet, or computer on your network.

What Can I See on It?

Tidesy offers multiple display views. The Detail view shows a full 24-hour tide curve with shaded warning and preferred zones. The Large view shows four big numbers — current tide, next high, next low, and water temperature — readable from across the room. You can set it to auto-cycle between views. Weather alerts from the National Weather Service appear automatically with color-coded severity levels, and you can tap any alert for the full description.

How Do I Set It Up?

Plug Tidesy into any USB-C power source, connect to its setup hotspot from your phone or computer, and walk through a short browser-based wizard. You will pick your WiFi network, choose your tide stations, and set your display preferences. The whole process takes about ten minutes. After that, Tidesy connects, fetches its first data, and the display comes alive. Firmware updates arrive automatically over WiFi at no charge.

Which Model Should I Pick?

Tidesy comes in five models. TidesyS (2.8") and TidesyS+ (3.5") are compact enough for a nightstand or small shelf. TidesyINK (4.2") uses an e-paper screen for a paper-like look that is easy on the eyes. TidesyM (5") is a good middle ground for a kitchen counter or desk. TidesyL (7") is the largest, with a bright display you can read from across the room. Every model has the same features — the only difference is screen size.
